Timeline and General info:

MAIL TO Host anytime: As long as I receive it before I start swapping I will accept the cards. Check the discord server for swapping status or message me directly on instagram to find out. But try to mail these by October.

Requirements: As always our normal standards apply of original 2.5 x 3.5 inch original hand drawn/colored/painted cards in your best efforts. I swap cards around based on composition, detail, and final execution. Empty backgrounds or people/objects with solid color for background, or head only cards are discouraged, please try for more. This community is made fabulous by everyone trying their best and being supportive and encouraging of each other’s growth.

August’s THEME:

Dragons

THEME REQUIREMENTS:  Your cards MUST contain some kind of dragon, it does not have to be a traditional dragon. PLEASE INCLUDE MORE THEN JUST THE HEAD!! Your dragon can be ANY KIND OF DRAGON you want, there are so many different kinds of traditional dragons from different cultures all over the world but you can also INVENT YOUR OWN type of dragon. Traditional dragons are also fine as well!

Normally dragons have certain physical characteristics that makes something think “dragon”.

Here are a few common traits that are often seen. You are NOT LIMITED TO THESE, but they are just things that are common to dragons. 

– a large reptilian like creatures
– horns, spikes, scales
– elongated sinuous type bodies
– wings, usually bat like
– long tails
– Serpent style dragons often do not have wings, sometimes legs, sometimes not

If you don’t want to do a reptilian dragon try for a gryphon style or a kirin type, or any mix of creature you want and give it some of those “common dragon like characteristics” that would make someone think “dragon” 

DEFINITELY take a look at this pinterest board and see that I tried to find as many “non common” dragon types to help inspire you – again you do not have to make a traditional type dragon, you can if you want but you can also mash up creatures to create your own unique dragons.

Approaches that might help you:

– Not all dragons are reptilian!
– Maybe your dragon only has a feathered head, wings and tail but the rest is a sinuous dragon body?
– Maybe its a water dragon with a long sinuous body, horns, with or without arms/legs?
– If you prefer bird type creatures, go with a gryphon style body feathered or reptile wings but you elongate the body for a more dragon like look? Maybe add horns?
– Perhaps your dragons has a cat like head but a longer body, horns and long feathered reptilian tail?
– Maybe the wings are a mix between dragonfly and batwings?
– What if there were no wings? Or the wings were very tiny and the body large and flexible?
– Maybe its a mix between plant and dragon?
– Perhaps its an elemental dragon with fire, air, water or plant wings and body?
